Happy new year everyone! I wish you all the best for the year ahead! (although really nothing has changed since yesterday but oh well!) :D
I'm guessing that many people would use the start of the new year (a.k.a. today) as a marker for a series of changes they wish to see in themselves throughout the course of the year, coming up with 'new year resolutions' that denote their expectations and things-to-accomplish for the year ...
... but don't get me wrong! Haha. Its better to have intentions to better oneself than remain stubbornly adamant ...
As for me, its just another day of post-A'-Level life. Haha. the only difference today would probably be that other people are more joyous because of the occasion than the other less significant ones ... so I guess today IS a special day! :D
I realize that the 'new-year-signifies-change' mentality that is associated with the 'today-is-new-years-day' label is a pretty good example of the positive effects of societal labeling. You know ... It's just another ordinary day after all! I mean, the only difference between today and other ordinary days is the 'new years day' label that society stamps on the day, making it really special! Haha. :D
I wish you, reader, happiness ... in whatever way you may define it ... :)
